World Cup

In the late 1990:s, as the sport of intercrosse was developing, several voices was raised in favour of playing the game in a more competitive form.

Through a discussion with its member federations, the FIIC created the World Cup and the first edition was held in Auderghem, Belgium in 1999.

Initially, there was only a men's tournament but in 2001 the first women's World Cup was held in Lecco, Italy.

The initiation of the World Cup has lead to a rapid technical development of the sport. A development that is still very much in progress.

Upcoming World Cup
